Defence Case Studies

• The RAF in conjunction with its defence supply chain uses QMAP to keep its Typhoon Eurofighter and Tornado fleets in the air.  QMAP allows the RAF ground crews to constantly review and improve their operational effectiveness so that they are always operating at peak performance, no matter where in the world they are or in what conditions.
• The Carrier Alliance, a joint venture between BAE Systems and Thales needed to create, clarify and communicate the operating processes to build a new European Aircraft Carrier across their supply chain of 140 contracting firms.  They chose QMAP to do this and were awarded the BAE Systems’ Chairman’s Bronze Award for Innovation and Implementation as a result.
• Boeing and Thales successfully used QMAP to integrate their UK defence businesses.  Through the operational clarity which QMAP brought about, overlaps were easily identified as were opportunities for operational improvement.  Across the new business QMAP generated returns on its investment of between 10 and 20 to 1.
